Are You Making Video Harder Than It Needs to Be?
Mar 03, 2025
Let’s talk about a truth so many coaches experience…
It’s not video that’s hard. It’s everything we tell ourselves about video that makes it feel impossible.
Am I right?
When was the last time you spoke to a client on a video call and felt completely in flow? No script. No second-guessing. Just you, sharing your expertise, coaching them towards the goal they want to achieve.
That’s video. That’s exactly what your audience needs from you.
Yet, so often when the camera turns on, something changes. Suddenly, we worry about being polished, sounding smart, or looking “professional.” And because of that, we then begin to obsess over tiny details no potential client will ever notice.
And in doing so, we turn something natural—our ability to connect, to speak, to coach—into something more difficult than it needs to be, or even worse, avoid it altogether.
But here’s the thing: Your next client doesn’t care if your video is perfect. They care if the coaching you deliver during video calls will help them.
They’re not thinking:
🚫 Wow, that lighting could be better.
🚫 They should have used a different camera angle.
🚫 They said ‘um’ too many times.
They’re thinking:
✅ That tip or realisation just solved a problem I’ve been stuck on for months.
✅ I feel like they get me.
✅ I wonder what else they can help me with.
So here’s my challenge to you:
What if you stopped treating video like a production… and started treating it like a conversation?
No over-planning. No perfectionism. No waiting for the “right time.”
Just show up. Speak. Help.
Because the more you do, the more impact you make—and the easier video becomes.
Let me know your thoughts, and of course reach out if you think I can help you get more comfortable [and more successful] including video in your coaching services.
